Not all bamboo sheets are created equal. There is a lot that goes on in the making of bamboo sheets so make sure you read these points carefully so you don’t get bad quality sheets that cause heating, skin, or even health problems. 

These are the only tips you need to find the right bamboo sheets from all the pretenders:  

1- Stay away from Amazon!

We personally tested dozens of sheets and we can confidently say that the bamboo sheets available on Amazon are by far the worst. You basically get what you pay for. Unfortunately, because the businesses selling these are in China, they do not abide by the FTC rules. They say things like 100% viscose from bamboo while the quality is obviously blended bamboo. They even play with the law tags to show authenticity. 

Also, do not trust the reviews, as even Amazon itself said that those Chinese businesses are hacking their way into thousands of reviews and they can do anything about it.

To put it simply, stay away from all Amazon bedding and especially bamboo sheets. 

2- Thread Count matters. Look for 250 to 400 Thread Count!

Because bamboo sheets are much cooler than cotton, the more thread count you get the better. For example, cotton sheets with very high thread counts will be durable but hot. For bamboo, that is not the case. Because of its smooth (non-round like cotton) cell surface, bamboo breathes better than cotton and so more thread count equals more quality, durability, beauty but not any less cooling. 400 thread count is ideal as it will last you a lifetime. 

3- Viscose is better than rayon. 

Bamboo can be made by the cheaper process of rayon or the much better process of viscose. Viscose results in a finer, smoother, more durable fiber and so try going with viscose all the time unless budget is an issue. Almost all Amazon bamboo sheets are blended rayon advertised as 100% viscose. You can immediately tell the difference when you first try it by seeing how rayon is not smooth. Also, it will start to come apart after several washes. It is however cheaper.

From a manufacturing standpoint, viscose bamboo sheet sets will cost around $60 to $80 per set and so they are sold for more than $100 to $200. Rayon on the other hand is less than half of that cost and so it can be sold for well under $100. 

4- Reputation & Customer Reviews Matter.

Nothing is better than personal experience. When it comes to well-reputable brands like the ones here on this list, the reviews are honest because the businesses are Google partners. This means they cannot control and play with reviews as they are posted by the Google service. Also, unlike the Amazon sellers, they are American businesses and they have the FTC laws to abide by. 

Read their reviews and see what people like about these sheets. The higher the review counts, the more these sheets are desired. 

5- Service, Sleep Trial & Warranty. 

Look for a good service with at least a 30-day return policy with full money-back guarantee to make sure you like the sheets. Also, the more years on the warranty the better the products and their manufacturing because these brands will have to keep their promises or get in trouble. This means that if they offer good warranties it is because the product is of good quality.
